  • Avian Behavior International "ABI’s twenty-acre training ranch is tucked away near Lake Wohlford, between Escondido and Valley Center, California. Our facility is open by appointment."
  • Blue Sky Ecological Reserve is a 700 acre oak-lined canyon free to the public.
  • California Wolf Center is a "one-of-a-kind education, conservation, and research center located 50 miles east of San Diego, near the town of Julian," open to the public by appointment.
  • Del Dios Preserve is a 774 acre "open space habitat for hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian use. Half way up the trail...visitors can enjoy an inspiring view of Lake Hodges to the southeast."
  • Lions, Tigers & Bears is host to 17 species "providing a safe haven for unwanted and abused exotic animals and to educating the public about the abuses of the exotic-animal trade."
  • Living Coast Discovery Center is a living museum with interactive exhibits that "interpret the history, geology, ecology, and natural history of the Sweetwater Marsh."
  • Mission Trails Regional Park contains more than 5,000 "acres of both natural and developed recreational areas. Its rugged hills, valleys and open areas represent a San Diego prior to the landing of Cabrillo in San Diego Bay in 1542."
  • National Wildlife Refuge Wildlife observation and photography, hiking and guided walks are some of the activities visitors can enjoy at this refuge.
  • Oasis Camel Dairy Open for private tours and open farm tours. Ride a camel or purchase rare products.
  • San Diego Botanic Garden a lush garden that features a variety of plant life and two children's areas, including the Hamilton Children's Garden, the largest interactive children's garden on the West Coast.
  • Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary is a 757-acre wildlife preserve, located near Lakeside, owned and maintained by San Diego Audubon, open to the public on Sundays.
  • Sky Falconry experience flying a trained bird of prey to your glove and learn about one of the world's oldest hunting traditions.
  • Torrey Pines State Reserve is 2,000 acres of land as it was before San Diego was developed, including 8 miles of trails, a visitor center, and guided nature walks on weekends.
  • Water Conservation Garden promotes water conservation with classes and event.
  • Wild Wonders offers interactive education programs both on and off-site and unique animal-encounters from around the world.

  • San Diego Padres [Baseball] In the 2016 season, the Padres won 68 and lost 94 games, much worse than last year. "They spent a good majority of the season going back-and-forth in the bottom of the NL West standings with the Arizona Diamondbacks."

  • Largest: Our largest visitors are the Gray Whales which begin their migration in the frigid Alaskan waters and swim southward at a rate of about 70 miles a day to their breeding waters in Baha California.
